Coach Joe Osovet – Head Football Coach, Heritage High School

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Coach Joe Osovet brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success to Heritage High School as its head football coach. Renowned as an offensive innovator and the creator of the “Bolt Offense,” Osovet has guided programs to sustained success at both the high school and collegiate levels.

Coach Osovet’s football journey began as a player at Nassau Community College before transferring to Northeastern University, where he completed his collegiate playing career. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Empire State College (NY), further strengthening his foundation in athletics, leadership, and player development.

Throughout his distinguished coaching career, Osovet has held positions at several prestigious institutions, including Nassau Community College, ASA College, Long Island University, and the University of Tennessee. His leadership and offensive vision have earned him numerous accolades, including Northeast Football Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2014 and 2017 and the 2014 USA Sports Writers JUCO Coach of the Year award.

Recognized nationally for his offensive expertise, Coach Osovet was selected as the Under Armour High School All-American Game Offensive Coordinator for both the 2025 and 2026 games, an honor reserved for elite coaches who demonstrate innovation, leadership, and excellence at the highest level of high school football.

At Heritage High School, Coach Osovet continues to inspire and develop young men through a program built on discipline, accountability, innovation, and a relentless commitment to excellence on and off the field.

Coach Osovet resides in Knoxville with his wife Sandy and their two children, Brooke and Austin.
